One Response to “What Critical Literacy Means to Me _ Allison”

  1. Vivian Says:

    Hi Allison
I enjoyed your focus on why you are doing what you are doing and what difference critical literacy makes in the classroom.

I think you did a good job of sharing pedagogy and texts for use from a critical literacy perspective. You also made some great connections to everyday life and everyday text. Making visible your process is an important way of making accessible critical literacy practices to others.

It seems to me that some underlying notions of critical literacy for you include the idea of responsibility and participation in community as well as identity work.

    Thanks
    vivian
