USA Presidential Inauguration

Posted on Tuesday 20 January 2009

Cheers to the world today, as we celebrate the momentous occasion of O’bama’s presidential inauguration.

The last CLIP episode focused on a text set dealing withe the question “What role does government play in creating the conditions for prosperity or poverty?” I think it would be wonderful to include with this text set some of the headlines and everyday texts that have appeared over the last few weeks that make use of the presidential inauguration to sell something, to demand something, to do different kinds of work and to unpack the positions being created for the reader. As readers it would be interesting to note the positions from which we engage with these texts. I’d love to hear what transpires…so drop me a note.

In the meantime…enjoy today!!!
