'Twas the night before Thanksgiving, and all 'round the place, Everyone was preparing to fill up their face Our tummies were empty and feeling quite good To bed nice and earlier as good eaters should the turkey was prep'ed all stuffed and well trimmed it actually shimmered when the light was not dimmed It was a 42 pounder with it's wings and it's legs And it looked like a barrel on a couple of kegs. The children were nestled all snug in their beds While visions of turkey danced in their heads And I in my shorts and mum in her gown For a restful sleep we had just settled down When all at once there arose such a clatter, I ran to the window to see what was the matter. I couldn't see much but one thing for certain, I'd have seen much better if I'd moved the curtain. I looked out the window and checked the back yard I saw that swings and trees were not marred And then it appeared in the pale moon light I'd wonder if'd I even seen such a sight It climbed out of its car lugging a huge burlap sack, and entered the house from the door in the back the doorknob it rattled it shook and did shake the door flew on open, 2 feathers up he did make I ran to the kitchen to see the whole sight I had to know who had woke me up this night The bird that appeared look like I'd seen him before Maybe the mall or the grocery store His eyes were as white as the new fallen snow and he gobbled a bit as he walked in real slow I hid 'round the corner keeping well out of sight I was sure not to give him a terrible fright A very long neck and butt full of feathers, waist high boots made of Italian leathers He stood 6 feet tall from the ground to his head, I was certain that his helmet was made out of lead He went straight for the fridge and then opened its door I'd never seen a big bird do this before He sighed as he grabbed the turkey in its pot He gobbled real loud as if to say "NOT" Into his sack he dumped our fine bird I stepped on a chip and I knew that he'd heard He turned on a dime and looked me straight in my eye I froze in my place, I thought I would die He looked me up from my head to my toe, He pulled up a finger and waggled it "No" He pointed to the sack holding our fine turkey feast As if trying to say he wasn't a bad beast. He went to his pocket and pulled something out I thought i was a goner, he'd soon take me out He handed me a card as he went on his way It said "Why not try pork on this Thanksgiving Day." Dan saw these 2 men all decked out in black, And Bruce was quite sure they were under attack. Nate and Di counted 8 podcasters joined by the neck with a chain, Charles stood up and called them by name. Now Cayenne , now Rusty , now Sage, and Barry , On Dani, On Tod , on Buckets , on Curry. To the top of the porch, to the top of the wall , Now dash away, dash away dash away all. As Richard drew in his hand, and was turning around, Down the chimney St. Nicholas came with a bound. Amber saw he was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot, And Leo was disgusted with the ashes and soot; Clinton noticed his broad face and his little round belly, Christiana remarked it was like a bowlful of jelly. Evo noticed he was chubby, a right jolly old elf, And King Bonk laughed when he saw him, in spite of himself; Lynette ran to the the tree in her sleek leather bodice, To check out the gifts from Banana and Goddess . A quick stealthy Ninja with his little red hat, With toys for The Brocas tucked away in his pack. There were treats for the Dude and the guys from Chubb Creek , For Rob , Steve and Scott and the Action Fu Geek . Santa went to his work but Julien heard not a sound, Unlike those Monkey Boxers , the Melinda had found. He looked in Dave's eye, and Heather gave him a wink, Gary blew him a kiss, and made Santa think. A one finger salute was all that he showed, The Dinkycasters yawned and finished their food.
