A very special edition of the AndyCast.

No Uninformed Biography this time….gonna hang on to them until the new year…

A special Holiday spectacular…

A little spoof of one of this season’s classic holiday traditions and by request some more podsafe Christmas music.

If you don’t celebrate Christmas or you do celebrate Christmas, I mean no offense by not mentioning other religious holidays
celebrated at this time of year…simply do to the fact that I know very little about these celebrations….I know about as much
as Hanuka, Kwanzaa and Ramadan as I do about the pain of giving birth or how they get that caramel filling into those Caramilk bars.

Please, if you have insider information about any other holiday celebration please do drop me an e-mail andycast@gmail.com. I’d be very appreciative.

And now, it is my extreme pleasure to present a take on an old Christmas tradition…perhaps you’ll make it one of yours…

Here now, is the new classic reading of “‘Twas the Podcast Before Christmas”.

‘Twas the Podcast Before Christmas

Twas the podcast before Christmas and all across the lake,
Not a creature was stirring, except Cat
and Bob with some cheesecake,

The Blevis’ mics hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that a new Marantz, soon would be there.

The Rumor Girls were all nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of Second Life
danced in their heads.

AJ
in his thong, the Pod Dog in his cap,
Had just settled down for a long winter’s nap.

Then up on the roof CC head such a clatter,
Karen and Ross
leapt up to see what was the matter.

Away to the window the Geek Farmers flew like a flash,
Dawn
tore open the shutters and Drew threw up the sash.

The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow
Gave the lustre of a Tiki Bar
to objects below,

And what to Vivian’s eyes should appear,
But Shane and Tom
in Dominatrix gear.

Dan saw these 2 men all decked out in black,
And Bruce
was quite sure they were under attack.

Nate and Di counted 8 podcasters joined by the neck with a chain,
Charles
stood up and called them by name.

Now Cayenne , now Rusty , now Sage, and Barry ,
On Dani
, On Tod , on Buckets , on Curry.

To the top of the porch, to the top of the wall ,
Now dash away, dash away dash away all.

As Richard drew in his hand, and was turning around,
Down the chimney St. Nicholas came with a bound.

Amber saw he was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot,
And Leo
was disgusted with the ashes and soot;

Clinton noticed his broad face and his little round belly,
Christiana
remarked it was like a bowlful of jelly.

Evo noticed he was chubby, a right jolly old elf,
And King Bonk
laughed when he saw him, in spite of himself;

Lynette ran to the the tree in her sleek leather bodice,
To check out the gifts from Banana and Goddess
.

A quick stealthy Ninja with his little red hat,
With toys for The Brocas
tucked away in his pack.

There were treats for the Dude and the guys from Chubb Creek ,
For Rob
, Steve and Scott and the Action Fu Geek .

Santa went to his work but Julien heard not a sound,
Unlike those Monkey Boxers
, the Melinda had found.

He looked in Dave’s eye, and Heather gave him a wink,
Gary
blew him a kiss, and made Santa think.

A one finger salute was all that he showed,
The Dinkycasters
yawned and finished their food.

I heard him exclaim having completed his deed
“Happy Podcasting to all, and to all a good feed.”

From the AndyCast comments

Vivian from the CLIP Podcast - likes the tighter format and cohesiveness of the show….is she listening to this show???

Karen from Dryshave - whom I slighted in show 39 …is happy that we are still friends and admits to her love of Twisted Sister and says I’m a goof.

Jen from the Dinkycast wants more music….thank you Jen…I’ll be playing some Perry Como in upcoming shows …just for you.

While we’re on the AndyCast site, I stole…errr…copied an idea I saw on Bruce Murray’s Zedcast site and have added Snap website previews for any and all hyperlinks on
the site. If you check out the transcript from ‘Twas the Podcast Before Christmas, I’m sure we’ll overload the Snap site….

From e-mail

Little Marky Blevis from far such fine podcasts as Electric Sky, Canadian Podcast Buffet, Just One More Book and probably a couple more….

subject line : No shit! Mark writes : You listened to dsc WITH Adam Curry???

there’s a little Indian place nearby…they call it Adam Curry…it’s really just green curry…but Adam did grow up in this area…it’s a little tribute to him

Charles Cadenhead - Mostly News

Show 40 rocked! Thanks for the UB, you even got some things right! ;) Ok, I’m off to take the new quiz…

Be sure to check out Charles’ 50th show. I made a contribution to that show which he masterfully mixed into that episode. Well done Charles…

Barry from Barrie - released a special bit in his feed requesting nay demanding his listeners listen to the show…that’s what you need to do for the AndyCast…simply add a single item in your feed requesting…nay demanding that your listeners listen to the AndyCast…it’s called gorilla podcasting..and Barry is the master…thank you Barry…your bananas will be presented in Kingston at PAB2007.

Please drop by the show site…www.andycast.net for links and a mostly accurate transcript for the show. I have the entire Night Before Christmas there with all the links to all the shows and people I mentioned.

Oh, the horror!!!! No more Andycast until 2007! How will I make it?!?! Well, it’s only 2 weeks maybe this will give me a chance to catch up on podcast. It seems like everybody but Mostly News is taking a holiday break, now if I can only get a show out this week! ;) Enjoy your ham Andy. See you soon! Charles

  2. Steve Eley Says:

Very cool, Andy. Though I don’t think you take the record for most podcasts mentioned in a podcast — I’m pretty sure Clinton from Comedy4Cast still has you beat by a few. This was very cool, though, and had some great sound production. Good work!

I also wanted to thank you for playing that Twisted Sister song at the end. I believe that’s the best version of “Come All Ye Faithful” I’ve ever heard, because it truly is joyful and triumphant. Thanks to you I’ve found and bought their Christmas album on iTunes.

Happy holidays to you and yours, Andy.

  3. Banana Stein Says:
