Brief Site Outage

Sorry for the brief down time this morning. It seems that with the Apple update to 10.4.4, mysql moved where it stored it’s socket connection file. It used to be stored in /var/mysql/ and it is now in /tmp/. This caused a problem for PHP which had no idea that the location changed. I simply created a soft link from the new location to the expected location and BINGO….PHP is happy again!

Sorry for the “techy” talk. I promise to keep things like this off the AndyCast…unless I have a complete Tech OUT show…Probably when I get the new MacBook…including the new Garageband….with the podcast studio…

I’m so excited!

I may be able to squeeze a show out today…but don’t hold your breath…..you may have to just wait until next week.

I’ll be in your earbuds soon enough!

Hello AndyCast listeners,

I am respectfully requesting that anyone who would like, to please submit a station id or sweeper that I could use in the show. If you listened to Andycast_018, you heard the first 2 from loyal listeners. I would like you to be part of the show. It’s simple, record your voice and send it to me. It’s really that simple.

For a station id, I’ve been requesting that folk include the following pieces of information and then add anything else you may want. For example…

“Hi this is Andy from the Andycast podcast at www.andycast.net, and you’re listening to the Andycast podcast with your host Andy Bilodeau.” Of course, you would add your own name…or it might be funny if you said you were me…I’ll leave that to your own creativity.

For a sweeper,

“The AndyCast podcast…you’ll laugh until you stop.”

Of course, this is just a suggestion and you are not limited to what you want to say.

Please send submissions to andycast@gmail.com. I can handle pretty much any file format but for ease of production please send wav, aif or mp3 files….and I’ll take care of the cleanup if necessary. Also, for the sake of legal eagles, please put in your e-mail to me that I have your permission to play this on the podcast.

I am as giddy as a little girl to hear from you all.
